During your trip to Peru you cannot miss a visit to the Rainbow Mountains. Every day thousands of visitors arrive at the foot of the Vinicunca Mountain, which has now become one of the main attractions in the country. Tourists of all nationalities brave high altitudes and harsh temperatures in order to admire the splendid colors that have made it famous throughout the world. Not everyone knows that there are other rainbow mountains that make up the Palcoyo range. But how do you choose which is the right one for you?
The first thing you need to know before making your choice is that at the Palcoyo Rainbow Mountains have less visitors than Vinicunca. Another difference is the degree of difficulty and the time required to reach the top. In the case of Palcoyo you will walk up to the top in maximum one hour ; in the case of Vinicunca you need more or less two hours for the ascent. Of course it all depends on the hiker’s level of fitness . In terms of the technical difficulty, Vinicunca is higher and more suitable for trekkers. In both cases you will b able to admire unique and breath-taking scenerie.In Palcoyo you will be able to admire a range of hills with multiple hues of different colours rather than just one mountain.
