Leticia
Founded in 1867 under the name of San Antonio, it was part of Peruvian territory until 1922. In the 1970s, Leticia was occupied by drug traffickers until the Colombian Army took the town. The climate is quite warm, with an average temperature of 25 °C that, depending on the season, can rise above 35 °C.
Visit Mundo Amazónico, a 19-hectare reserve with botanical gardens housing 700 species of flora, the Amazonian Ethnographic Museum, and the Uirapuru Art Gallery. Venture into the Amazon and visit small indigenous communities or marvel at its fantastic wildlife.
