Villa de Leyva
Villa de Leyva was founded in 1572 by Hernán Suárez de Villalobos and was a city that received important figures such as army officers, clergy, and nobility. Its climate is mild and dry, with an average temperature of 18 °C. The Plaza Mayor of the Villa de Leyva is one of the most beautiful and large in America, with 14,000 m2. In its surroundings, you can admire the Casa de Juan de Castellanos, the Casona La Guaca, and the Casa Quintero. Today, you will find restaurants and bars in these three colonial mansions. It is also recommended to visit the Parish Church, which was built in 1608.
