After breakfast, you will start the tour of Bogota with an English-speaking guide.
Strolling through the city’s historical quarter you will admire the Colón Theatre, the San Carlos Palace, the San Ignacio Church, the Nariño Presidential Palace, Bolívar Square, the Capitolio Nacional, the Alcaldía Mayor and the Cathedral. Later you will visit the famous Museo de Oro and the Botero Museum. Free afternoon.

Day 3. Bogota / Popayan

After breakfast at the hotel, private transfer to Bogota airport to catch a direct flight to Popayan. Upon arrival you will be accompanied to your hotel before starting the private city tour with an English-speaking guide. You will walk around the Colonial area in this fascinating city and will visit the “casonas coloniales”, churches, the Humilladero and the Chiquito bridges. Popayan is synonymous of cultural centre as it attracts poets, painters and sculptors because of the fascinating colonial architecture of the “casonas”, the churches and the bridges. Overnight in Popayan.
Tourist sites, churches and convents are subject to unannounced exceptional closures.
Day 4. Popayan / Mercado De Silvia / San Agustin

Breakfast at the hotel and private transfer with an English-speaking guide to Silvia (approx. 2 hours), a small village famous for its picturesque market held on Tuesdays where it is possible to buy craftsmen products made by the Guambinos: one of the most traditional ethnic groups in the country. Later you will be transferred in a private vehicle to San Agustín (approx. 7 hours) with an English-speaking guide. Along the way you will travel through the village of Coconuco famous for its sulphurous thermal waters and Paletarà where you cannot miss the opportunity of tasting a warm “aguapanela” accompanied by a typical local cheese.

Day 5. San Agustin

After breakfast, you will have a guided visit of San Agustín Park with an English-speaking guide and admire the numerous lytic statues. It was declares a UNESCO heritage site in 1995 and it is a perfect combination of nature and archaeology. Later you will visit the Museum and admire the smaller statues, ceramics, utensils, jewels and other artefacts dating back to the mysterious civilizations that inhabited this area. The afternoon will be spent in a typical “finca cafetera”, where you will be shown the processing and production of coffee.

Day 6. San Agustin / Neiva / Cartagena De Indias

Breakfast at the hotel and private transfer with an English-speaking guide to Neiva. You will admire very different landscapes: you will come down from 1,730 m above sea level to 380 m, you will see coffee plantations and fruit groves in the southern Huila region and rice and cotton plantations in the Magdalena Valley. Along the way, you will stop at the Cacica Gaitana Monument, at the Mirador de la Represa de Betania, the Cañón de pericongo and will sample the famous “achiras del Huila” (savoury snacks typical of the Huila area). You will then catch a flight to Cartagena and will be taken to your hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel you will go on a private city tour with an English-speaking guide. The itinerary starts with a visit to the modern quarter in Cartagena and will then continue with the visit of the Popa Convent (or alternatively the San Pedro Claver Convent) and the Castillo de San Felipe. Finally, you will walk around the historic centre and admire interesting streets, monuments, parks, churches and other sites of interest. Free afternoon.
