Day 1. Puerto Maldonado – Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion – Twilight River Excursion

Twilight Excursion
Your journey will begin at Puerto Maldonado, where a friendly guide will be waiting for you. You will travel by motorized canoe along the Madre de Dios River for approximately 30 minutes to Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion. Here you will be served a tasty lunch prepared with delicious organic ingredients. After your meal, enjoy a leisurely walk through Inkaterra’s private nature trail known as Concepcion Trails where you will discover and learn all there is to know about rainforests. At dusk, navigate by motorized canoe on a delightful Twilight River excursion. Watch the river come to life before your very eyes as you learn about the ecosystem, the behavior of nocturnal animals and the constellations. In the evening, enjoy dinner in the Casa Grande’s dining room.
Day 2. Sandoval Lake – Inkaterra Canopy Walkway & Anaconda Walk

Tambopata National Reserve
After breakfast, get ready for a long trek into the Tambopata National Reserve towards Lake Sandoval. Navigate the lake by canoe to explore the biodiversity of the area. See if you can spot the giant river otter, red howler monkeys, caiman and macaws. You will also get the opportunity to cast your eyes on the world’s largest freshwater fish, the paiche. After your excursion, head back to the lodge for lunch and then take a 20-minute canoe ride to the canopy walkway. Let’s hope you aren’t afraid of heights as you climb a 30-meter tower and cross the hanging bridges that connect the treetops. Enjoy the breathtaking views while you admire the white-throated toucans, woodpeckers, trogons, squirrel monkeys and the three-toed sloth. You will cross a 200-meter wooden bridge over the swamps and learn more about the fascinating flora and fauna which surround the flooded ecosystem. At night, venture out for another excursion to enjoy the sights and sounds of the intriguing wildlife. Return to the lodge for a tasty meal served by local chefs.
Day 3. Native Farm – Botanical Garden – Natural pond

Native Farm
After an early breakfast, it is time for the native farm excursion where you will learn local techniques of cultivation and sample the produce. Following your visit to the farm, you will explore the botanical gardens to see medicinal plants which are used in the Amazon region. You will arrive back at your accommodation for lunch and have some time for a brief rest. You can then try your hand at native fishing on the natural pond and take in the wonderful scenery. You might even spy a hoatzin or two, also known as the stinkbird! You will have a chance to look at the remains of the Fitzcarraldo steamboat which inspired Werner Herzog’s 1982 documentary. Spend your last evening enjoying the peace and serenity of nighttime critters, finishing up with a pleasant dinner at the hotel.
Day 4. Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion – Butterfly House – Puerto Maldonado

End of the Tour - Attractions
Butterfly House
After breakfast, it’s time to head back to Puerto Maldonado by canoe. You will be dropped off at the Butterfly House to learn more about these charming, colorful insects while awaiting to catch your flight home. Although lunch is not included, you have the option of dining at Inkaterra before your leave for Puerto Maldonado or having a light snack at the Butterfly House before you board your flight. Then it’s time to finish the tour and head to your next destination – wherever that may be!
