The climate is temperate all year round. Spring (September-November) and autumn (March-May) offer mild temperatures and are the most balanced times to visit the capital, avoiding both summer humidity and winter cold.
The tourist season runs from November to March, the southern summer, when the days are longer and milder: the best time to visit the Perito Moreno Glacier in El Calafate and to sail the Beagle Channel in Ushuaia.
The falls can be visited year-round, but the months from May to September offer a cooler, less humid climate, ideal for long walks along the park's walkways.
The dry season, from April to November, is best suited for exploring the colorful valleys and wine routes: in the summer months (December-March) sudden storms are more frequent.
For an itinerary covering Buenos Aires, Patagonia and the Iguazú Falls, we recommend at least 13-15 days, since the distances between regions are considerable: the flight between Buenos Aires and Ushuaia alone takes over 3.5 hours. With 18-20 days you can spend more time in El Calafate and trekking around Perito Moreno, or add Salta and Cafayate in the north of the country.
