Rainbow Mountains and Machu Picchu Tour is an 11-day itinerary dedicated entirely to the great Andean beauties of Peru. Departure from Lima and arrival to the "White City", Arequipa. Breathtaking views await you from the Peruvian Andes, to the National Reserve of Aguada Blanca, to the famous Titicaca Lake. The tour will immerse you in the present and past Peruvian culture: it will lead you to the discovery of the colonial city of Cusco. There will also be visits to the Sacred Valley, to the famous salt pans of Maras and to the wonder of the modern world, the Machu Picchu. The route will end with the trekking to the magical Rainbow Mountain and you will be fascinated by a show among the most beautiful that nature can offer.

Day 1. The journey to Peru begins!

Upon your arrival at Lima "Jorge Chavez" airport you will be welcomed by our representative who will take you to the hotel where you can relax after your flight. You will have the evening free to explore the city.

Day 2. Discovering Lima

After breakfast we leave for the City Tour of Lima. The route starts in the Miraflores district and in the Love Park, then proceeds with the visit of the archaeological site of Huaca Pucllana, also called the "place of ritual games". As we walk through the streets of the city we will discover the main places of interest such as the main square of the city where stands the Cathedral of San Giovanni Apostolo and Evangelista, the Convent and the Church of San Francesco. The tour ends with a visit to the catacombs, wonders of art and spirit. In the afternoon transfer to the airport for the Lima-Arequipa flight. Upon arrival, transfer and overnight at the hotel.

Day 3. The white city

Day dedicated to the visit of Arequipa, known as "La Ciudad Blanca" thanks to the color of the stone with which all the main buildings were built and which frame the beautiful old town which, in 2001, was declared a World Heritage Site UNESCO. The central Plaza de Armas will be one of the stops along with the Caustro de la Compañia de Jesus. You will also visit the Mundo Alpaca eco-tourism complex. Our city tour will end with a visit to the Santa Catalina Monastery, which covers an area of 20,462 square meters; these characteristics make it one of the most important religious buildings in Peru. At the end of the day, overnight at the hotel.

Day 4. Welcome to Puno

Breakfast. Late morning departure to Puno in tourist transport. You will cross the Pampa Cañahuas National Reserve. Arrived in the city you will be taken to the hotel, where you can prepare for the exciting day tomorrow.

Day 5. Boat trip on Lake Titicaca

During this day we will take a boat trip on the highest navigable lake in the world, Lake Titicaca. Here we will visit the floating islands of the Uros made by local people with totora reeds. Finally we will stop at the island of Taquile where we can observe the artisans who still work on the loom. This ancient art is part of the Unesco Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2008. At the end of the day, return to Puno and overnight at the hotel.

Day 6. Traveling to Cusco

Today we will travel the magnificent "Ruta del Sol". Between the stops of the Puno-Cusco journey, the first will be the city of Pukara with a visit to the Museo Lítico. Then stop at Sicuani where we will have lunch with delicious typical dishes of the Peruvian cuisine. In the afternoon visit to the "Temple of Wiracocha" where we will discover impressive columns that are still well preserved and the interesting circular constructions used in the past as resting and refreshment places. With the visit to the Temple you will be able to perceive the splendor of an ancient time. The last stop before arriving in Cusco will be the Church of Andahuaylillas, where you will discover the Andean Baroque of the Cusqueña school. Arrived at your destination, hotel accommodation.

Day 7. The Sacred Valley of the Inca

Day dedicated to the discovery of the Sacred Valley and the culture of the ancient Inca civilization. The tour will start in Chinchero with a visit to the church and an artisan center where you can watch the alpaca thread working. One of the main stages of the tour will be the Saline di Maras, an immense terracing of artificial lakes from which a very precious commodity is obtained: salt. Lunch included and departure in the afternoon to Ollantaytambo, from where you will take the train to Aguas Calientes. Arrival at destination and overnight at hotel.

Day 8. Visit to Machu Picchu

After breakfast, departure for the famous Inca Citadel, recognized as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. For the more daring, it is also possible to climb Huayna Picchu (optional), which will enjoy a fantastic view of Machu Picchu once at the top. We will spend the whole morning on the site to learn and discover the secrets of the ancient Peruvian culture. Return to Aguas Calientes and departure for Ollantaytambo. Arrival at destination and departure for Cusco. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 9. Cusco and its impressive beauties

Breakfast and start of the visit of Cusco with private guide. The tour begins with a visit to the historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with the view of the Plaza de Armas, the Stone of the Twelve Angles and the bohemian district of San Blas. The Cusco tour will continue with the visit of the famous Koricancha Temple. Our Cusco excursion ends with a stopover to the San Pedro Market. Free afternoon and overnight in Cusco.

Day 10. Trekking to the Rainbow Mountain

Departure before dawn for a journey of about 3 hours that will take you to Pampachiri where you will begin a long walk. Arrived at your destination you will not be absolutely disappointed by what you will see: the colors of these mountains are unimaginable! You will have time available to discover the beauty of this place. Lunch and return to Cusco, overnight at the hotel.

Day 11.

After breakfast we will say goodbye and you will be taken to the airport to take the flight to Lima.
