Day 1. Lima: The gastronomic capital of America!

Welcome to Peru! At Jorge Chavez Airport a member of the Peru InsideOut team will meet you for the transfer to your hotel. Today a fascinating experience in the land of the Incas begins.

After a refreshing breakfast, you will set off to discover the cosmopolitan city of the kings, Lima. Accompanied by a guide, you will explore the cultural treasures of the Peruvian capital. From the iconic Parque del Amor in Miraflores to the historic underground catacombs of the San Francisco Convent, steeped in centuries of history and mystery; each stop will reveal Peru's rich cultural heritage. The view of the archaeological site of Huaca Pucllana and the colonial plazas San Martín and the historic Plaza de Armas, overlooked by the Cathedral, are just some of the landmarks that will bring this unforgettable experience to life.

After a taste of Lima’s history, you will embark on a new chapter in the mystical Sacred Valley, where the heights and traditions of the Andes offer new adventures and discoveries.
After breakfast, you will head to the airport for a short flight to Cusco. The journey will then take you to the impressive Maras Salt Mines, where a panoramic view reveals the magnitude and beauty of this natural wonder created by human hands over centuries. After this encounter with history and tradition, it will be time for a lunch in a refined colonial hacienda and enjoy a delicious local lunch. Later you will head back to the hotel in the Sacred Valley, where the grandeur of the Andes and the serenity of the surroundings are a refuge of peace and relaxation.

Day 4. Visit to the Ollantaytambo Fortress

There is still much to discover in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The morning will begin with breakfast followed by the imposing Ollantaytambo fortress, an impressive archaeological site that tells the stories of ancient civilizations and the progressive engineering of the Incas. After admiring the panoramic views from the top of this historic site, you wil board a train to Aguas Calientes, a charming town located at the foot of Machu Picchu. As the train winds through the rugged and lush landscape, you can observe how nature gradually changes, filling the mountains with dense vegetation. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, transfer to your hotel.

Day 5. Exploring Machu Picchu

The most important day has arrived with a visit to the Lost City of the Incas: Machu Picchu! The historic Machu Picchu Sanctuary is considered one of the seven new wonders of the modern world and was declared a World Heritage Site in 1983. Its name means Old Mountain, was built in the mid-15th Century and is believed to have been one of the residences of the ninth Inca of the Tahuantinsuyo: Pachacutec!
For the adventurers we suggest adding the short version of the Inca Trail from Km 104 entering Machu Picchu from the Sun Gate. Another option is to climb Huayna Picchu or the Machu Picchu Mountain subject to availability. After the tour you will take the train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo from where you will depart for Cusco.

NB. The visit to the Machu Picchu's ruins has a maximum duration of 3 hours.

Day 6. The Imperial City of Cusco

After breakfast, you will embark on a fascinating tour of the historic city of Cusco, whose cobbled streets and colonial buildings are silent witnesses to centuries of history and culture. Your first stop is the picturesque San Blas Neighborhood, famous for its narrow streets and artisan workshops, where you can breathe in the creative and bohemian atmosphere that characterizes this place. Then you will marvel at the impressive Twelve-Angle Stone, an emblematic symbol of Inca architectural skill that awakens the admiration of locals and visitors alike. The Plaza de Armas, with its imposing Cathedral and majestic colonial architecture, is another highlight of this tour, where the grandeur of the past intertwines with the daily life of the city. The visit to Koricancha, the Temple of the Sun, reveals the deep spiritual connection of the Incas with the cosmos and its architecture shows traces of colonization, while the bustling local market of San Pedro invites travelers to immerse themselves in the aromas, colors, and flavors of Cusco’s vibrant life. Day 7. Leisurely day in Cusco or Trekking to the Rainbow Mountain

Alternatively, you may embark on a journey to Fulawasipata, where an exciting hike begins promising landscapes of unparalleled beauty. For approximately three hours, you will walk along the challenging trail through the mountain until you reach the summit of the imposing Vinicunca Mountain, rising majestically to 5,100 meters above sea level. From this privileged vintage point you will witness a breathtaking spectacle: panoramic views of snow-capped peaks, deep valleys, and the beautiful colors of the mountain, unfolding throughout the landscape. After admiring the greatness of nature in its best, you will make your way back to Fulawasipata, where a well-deserved box lunch to recharge energies awaits in Cusipata. Return to Cusco to enjoy the comfort of the hotel.

Day 8. Farewell Cusco

The last day of this unforgettable adventure has arrived, and after a memorable journey, it is time to say goodbye. After breakfast, you will be accompanied to the airport for your return flight.
