Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ about what to see in Colombia

It depends on the type of trip. For a first itinerary consider Bogotá, Tatacoa, the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, San Andrés and Providencia and a slower stop in Guatapé and Antioquia or Boyacá. A well-calibrated itinerary always leaves room for road travel times, which are often slower than the distance on the map would suggest.

In two weeks you can combine Bogotá, Cartagena and one or two major areas among Tatacoa, Tayrona Park and the Sierra Nevada, and San Andrés and Providencia. Avoid adding a new region every couple of days: domestic flights and road transfers take up more time than expected in such a geographically varied country.

Yes, if it's a priority for your trip and you have enough days. San Andrés and Providencia add a very different experience, but should be weighed against access times and overall logistics: being a Caribbean island, it requires a dedicated flight from the mainland.
